Used part for main volume: RK09K12C0A2S

The original has a 503B code, the item above has an A curve, but this seems unobtainable.
The 503A works, it just has a different curve.

Prophet Rev2 OLED

The synth has a small daughter-PCB with the OLED, so it’s easy to get it out and work only on this part.
To replace a defective OLED screen on the Dave Smith Prophet Rev2 synthesizers, you can:

  • Approach the customer service 😅. I got one for a fair price. No soldering required.
  • Order an Adafruit 128×128 OLED and transfer the actual OLED-display to the pcb-module of the synth. I’ve done this, and it works.
    To get the screens off the PCB I’ve used a thin wire (to slice through the double-sided tape) and some alcohol.
    Be aware of heat, so make sure the flex-cable is folded, and the OLED is on the back of the PCB, relatively safe from heat. A soldering iron and flux was my way to go. I’ve destroyed one screen with hot air 🙁
  • (Not tested, but I assume the GME128128-02 OLED module uses the same OLED)

Stappenplan

  1. Maak een zwart wit kaart met Google Maps Style Wizard.
    1. Landscape → All → Color: wit
    2. Roads → All → Color: zwart
      1. Roads → Stroke: hidden (als je dunnere wegen wilt)
    3. Point of interest → All → Color: wit
    4. Water → All → Color: zwart
  2. Maak een printscreen op volledig scherm van een boeiende plek
  1. Importeer de afbeelding in Illustrator
  2. Zet ‘m om naar vector (kijk eventueel bij Window → Image Trace voor de settings)
    1. Image trace ‘m met: afbeelding selecteren, Object → Image Trace → Make & expand.
    2. Rechermuisklik → ungroup

Nu kan je alle vakjes handmatig selecteren en inkleuren, maar je kan ook een Script gebruiken.

Nu krijg je een script dat NIET WERKT (2023). Lekker dan.
Toevallig weet ik dat het volgende wél werkt:

  1. Kan je het script herschrijven zodat het de kleuren toewijst met:
    color.red = r;
    color.green = g;
    In plaats van RGBColor(r, g, b);

Laatste stap

  1. Maak een Swatch (kleurenpalet?) in Illustrator met daarin de kleuren die je wilt gebruiken.
  2. Laat het script herschrijven door ChatGPT zodat ie een kleur uit de Swatch kiest.
